The Talon Review: Volume 2 aims to cultivate eclectic, experimental, thoughtful work that is experienced in new, surprising ways. Volume 2 is interested in writers who push their own boundaries. We are looking for the unique, burgeoning voices of Jacksonville and beyond. You can’t be too weird for us (we’re pretty weird ourselves).
Volume 2, Issue 1 is currently accepting submissions, with an anticipated publication of January 2019. If you are interested in sharing your work with us, we’d love to read it. Please read our Submissions Guidelines for full instructions.
Talon Review started in 2012 at the University of North Florida, when a group of students in Mark Ari’s creative writing workshops founded HashtagOctothorpe, a journal dedicated to student voices at the University of North Florida. In 2014, the journal was re-envisioned and rededicated as The Talon Review. In 2018, Talon decided to collect the past six years and ten issues of phenomenal work into The Talon Review: Volume 1. Talon remains focused on continuing its legacy of spotlighting the voices of students and alums of the University of North Florida, while expanding its scope to include writers and artists of all kinds, from all places.
